Aquamarine, a blue variety of the beryl family, ranges from pale to medium blue. Notable sources include Pakistan, Madagascar, and Nigeria, while the deep-blue Santa Maria mines in Brazil produce some of the most highly prized stones used in rings, pendants, and other fine jewellery.
